Project 12 - Singing the Blues

Not Assigned During the Fall Semester 2014.

Compose a 12-bar blues song with 3 choruses.
Key of Eb MINOR - 4/4 Time Signature
Chorus 1 - Improv Melody (measures 1-13) - AAB form with chord alterations
Chorus 2 - Improvisation on Black Keys (measures 13-25)
Chorus 3 - Repetition of Chorus (measures 25-37)

Hints:
  • Start with a Beat, a Bass Line and a Chord Progression (listen for more than one note at a time).
  • Then after the form is created, improvise by adding new instrument lines below.  
  • Use your editing to cut and paste your patterns.  
  • If you are using a swing pattern, align to the closest Eighth Note Triplet (1/8T).  
  • If you are using a rock/pop pattern, align to the closest Eighth Note.
