Goals:

  • Continued use of Finale Notepad
  • Compose a basic warm-up for students in your Band or Choir class

Band Students:

    • Start with a simple 4 measure melody in Concert Bb
    • Transpose the melody to Concert Eb
    • Transpose the melody to Concert Ab
    • Transpose the melody to Concert Db
    • Copy and Paste the exercise for transpositions of C, Bb, Eb, F and Bass Clef
      Note: You may need to transpose up or down octaves for different instruments. Have Mr. Rank check the ranges before printing your file.

    Choir & Piano Students:

    • Start with a simple 4 measure melody in G
    • Transpose down by half steps 3 times
    • Copy and Paste the exercise for Bass Clef (you may have to write it down an octave)

Rubric:

Proper use of notes and rhythms        10        8        6        4        2        0
    Add dynamics to indicate volume
    Melody effectively uses combinations of rhythmic values
