Mr. William Rank is in his fifth year as Director of Bands at Oak Prairie Junior High School, which services Lockport and Homer Glen. Mr. Rank conducts the Oak Prairie Symphonic Band, Concert Band and two jazz ensembles. He also teaches semester general music classes in Music Technology. Prior to teaching at Oak Prairie, Mr. Rank taught four years at Scullen Middle School in Naperville, and two years as an assistant at Champaign Central High School in Champaign. Mr. Rank’s ensembles have consistently received excellent ratings at local and state festivals.
Mr. Rank received the Bachelors and Masters degrees in Instrumental Music Education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Go Illini!!
As a freelance saxophonist, Mr. Rank has performed at the World Saxophone Congress and received an Outstanding Soloist Award at the North Texas Jazz Festival. Mr. Rank is currently an active member in the Illinois Music Educators Association, Music Educators National Conference, National Band Association, North American Saxophone Alliance and the University of Illinois Alumni Association.
