Mr. William Rank is in his seventh year as Band Director at Oak Prairie JHS, which services parts of Lockport, Lemont, and Homer Glen.  Mr. Rank conducts the Oak Prairie Symphonic Band, Concert Band and two jazz ensembles.  He also teaches semester general music classes in Music Technology.  Prior to teaching at Oak Prairie, Mr. Rank taught four years at Scullen Middle School in Naperville, and two years as an assistant at Champaign Central High School in Champaign. Mr. Rank’s ensembles have consistently received excellent ratings at local and state festivals.  Last year the Oak Prairie Jazz Band 1 performed at the Illinois Music Educators Association All-State Conference.  In December, the Oak Prairie Jazz Band 1 will be assisting Jose Diaz, Dick Dunscomb and Tony Garcia as a rehearsal lab band at the Midwest Clinic in Chicago!

Mr. Rank received the Bachelors and Masters degrees in Instrumental Music Education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  Go Illini!!

As a freelance saxophonist, Mr. Rank has performed at the World Saxophone Congress and received an Outstanding Soloist Award at the North Texas Jazz Festival.  Mr. Rank is an active member in the Illinois Music Educators Association, Illinois Grade School Music Association, Jazz Education Network, National Band Association, North American Saxophone Alliance, Technology Institute for Music Educators, and the University of Illinois Alumni Association.  He currently performs with the Brass Tracks Jazz Orchestra.

Mr. Rank lives in Oak Forest

with his wife Christy and

daughter Samantha.
